Inspirational Series
Someone challenged me to publish my poetry using my voice. I hate my voice. I sound like a child. But, if we don’t challenge ourselves, we will never get better, so I recorded a poem of the Inspirational Series (IS) I just finished.
My April thing I have never done before was to video record my poetry. Challenge accepted. Challenge completed. If you would like to hear more, please let me know. I will carefully choose poems I believe people need to hear. When they are edited, I will publish them all–written.
The voice recording is of the first one I wrote, which is called Perfectly Broken. Below is the written version of it.
Perfectly Broken
(3/27/19)
Let go of the idea of perfect:
You are not perfect;
You will never be perfect.
You are real, flawed, human.
Allow yourself to make mistakes,
learn from them; grow.
You won’t always have it all,
together, figured out, right.
Your heart will be broken—
sometimes, cracks will take longer
than you expected, wanted
to close back together,
and a small crack may remain
to remind you
things have gotten better;
things could be worse—
you’ve felt hurt and pain,
your brokenness has made you alive;
you’ve learned to be open, vulnerable,
especially with yourself.
That’s the best gift for yourself—
you’re honest with yourself;
you’re open to the sensibility
every crack has taught you.
Strong, courageous, tenacious—
You can accomplish anything.
Show your pieces to the world—
everyone you meet.
They’ve made you, You.
The most beautiful people
are those who have found
brokenness is better than perfection.
Their hearts feel deeply—
heaviness, happiness, love.
They’ve found the light in the dark;
they appreciate everything—
compassionate, understanding, empathy.
Beautiful hearts don’t just happen:
they are formed through
the ugly pursuit of letting perfection go.

Your voice doesn’t sound like a child’s voice…
You really make it appear so easy along with your presentation however I find this topic to be really something which I think I would
by no means understand. It seems too complex and extremely vast for me.
I’m taking a look ahead on your subsequent submit, I will try to get the grasp of it!
